Hacktivists’ prepare to ‘erase Israel from the internet’ 7 APRIL 2013 #OpIsrael

An group of online hackers have launched ‘#OpIsrael,’ a planned cyber attack against the country on April 7. (AFP)

‘Hacktivist Anonymous,’ a group of international hackers, has promised to ‘erase Israel from the internet’ in a coordinated attack against the country on April 7.

A hacker, who adopted the pseudonym ‘Anon Ghost,’ initiated the event and named it #OpIsrael, according to the Arabian Gazette on Wednesday.

Many more known hacktivists, notorious for carrying out state-targeted attacks, are supporting the campaign. One hacking team told The Hackers Post website their reason for participation; "Israel isn’t stopping human rights violations. It’s to show solidarity with newly recognized Palestinian state.”

Israel has taken the threats seriously, especially since several state-run websites have already been affected, subsequently, defensive preparations are already underway.

Officer Ben Avi, Director of online webpage Accessible Government, told Israeli news source Haaretz, "what distinguishes this plan when compared to previous attacks is that it really seems to be organized by Anonymous-affiliated groups from around the world in what looks like a joining of forces.”

The first #OpIsrael cyber-attacks were launched by the hacktivist group during Israeli’s Pillar of Defense assault on Gaza in November 2012.

Some 700 Israeli websites have already fallen victim to repeated cyber-attacks, including high-profile government systems such as the Foreign Ministry and the Israeli President’s official website.

The Israeli Finance Ministry reported an estimated 44 million unique attacks on government websites, according to online media source RT on Wednesday.

The Hacktivist group has also posted personal data of 5000 Israeli officials, containing names, I.D. numbers and personal emails.

Anon Ghost told The Hackers Post, "the hacking teams have decided to unite against Israel as one entity…Israel should be getting prepared to be erased from the internet.”]

Yahoo data leak by Virus_Hima

A penetration tester has reportedly hacked Yahoo!, claiming to have gained access to website backup and database files for a dozen databases.
The hacker using the handle Virus_Hima published screenshots that showed the purported site backups for a Yahoo! finance subdomain.
Virus_Hima disclosed the flaws alleging that Yahoo! had ignored his vulnerability disclosure email.The hacker claimed to have accessed the databases via a reflected cross site scripting vulnerability which he told SC was fixed by Yahoo!. He also said he discovered a SQL Injection hole.
The writer previously dumped 230 email addresses, names and hashed passwords extracted from an Adobe database of 150,000 records and revealed how attackers could access Yahoo! emails by stealing cookies.
"I have found tens of zero day vulnerabilities in big web sites such as Adobe, Microsoft, Yahoo!, Google, Apple, Facebook," the hacker wrote in a public clipboard document.
"Google [replied and patched quickly] but for Adobe and Yahoo they were so slow in reply … So I decided to teach both of them a hard lesson to harden [their] security procedures."
Virus_Hima denied links to the sale of the Yahoo! email exploit on criminal forums.

This is a good question.
I'm very active vulnerability researcher, i'm doing vulnerability researches every single minute in every single hour in every single day.
Because of that, i have found tens of 0days vulnerabilities in big web sites such as Adobe/Micorsoft/Yahoo/Google/Apple/Facebook and many more,
As I said I've stopped black hat activities long time ago, I started reporting the vulnerabilities to the vendors.
Google was great in fast reply and patch release. same goes with some others. But for Adobe and Yahoo they were so slow in reply
and fix, You know what? Yahoo never reply for my message!
So i decided to teach both of them a hard lesson to harden them security procedures. It would make a disaster if such companies
vulnerabilities was privately used in the underground and they never know about it! not only their customers been affected but the vendors themselves also suffer from such exploits.
Adobe acrobat/flash, Yahoo data leak of that 400k emails, and that hotmail remote password reset vulnerabilities is an example.
When i thought to teach Adobe the lesson I said to myself, if i won't publish a strong proof of concept for the vulns so i won't gain any
trustworthy or reputation for my notes! also if i published only adobe emails so they would deny the leak and say
it's randomly generated emails or collected from different DB's which is not related to Adobe DB's!
But if i leaked more emails specially if it's a critical emails like .mil they will move 10x faster for patching the vulnerabilities
and will be forced to take better security procedures. And yes, this is what really happened!
they investigated the case, shouted-down the vulnerable web site, Emailed me in the same day asking for vulnerability details,
I sent them the details and they said we are working to patch it and to amendment our security!
God dam it! such things was taking 3-4 months in the vulnerabilities i reported to them before!
Now all this things done in only one day! now you know why i did that and that i was right in everything i did?
Here we go for Yahoo. but this time i will publish proofs only without publishing data like in Adobe case,
I already gained the trustworthy I was looking for.

GhostShell releases 2.5 million Russian government accounts

Self-declaring "war on Russia's cyberspace", hacktivist group GhostShell have released what appears to be millions of accounts belong to various Russian government agencies.

In a number of files dumped on Github, in what the group call #ProjectBlackStar, the hackers claim to have taken 2.5 million accounts and records from governmental departments, as well as educational, academical, political, law enforcement, telecom, research institutes, medical facilities records and data from large corporations.

In a Pastebin message which links to the file dumps, GhostShell says:In a number of files dumped on Github, in what the group call #ProjectBlackStar, the hackers claim to have taken 2.5 million accounts and records from governmental departments, as well as educational, academical, political, law enforcement, telecom, research institutes, medical facilities records and data from large corporations.

A way of thinking outdated for well over 100 years now. The still present communism feeling has fused with today's capitalism and bred together a level of corruption and lack of decency of which we've never seen before.

The group's leader, DeadMellox, concluded by stating that "GhostShell currently has access to more Russian files than the FSB and we are very much eager to prove it."

The Federal Security Service (FSB), a Russian intelligence service, was

once known as the KGB following a reformation.

The file dump includes a number of released names, passwords and email addresses that end incorp-gov.ru, and so appear to be from the Russian government -- the common 'qwerty' password aside, it is unclear how many of these are viable, active addresses. However, 37 of the file dumps are apparently from the Russian government directly, and many contain lists with hundreds of email address leaks.

One research center, Jinr, appears to have been impacted through the campaign -- the leak containing names, home addresses, job titles, email addresses and the phone numbers of people attending meetings in 2011 at the institute.

Once translated, a number of the database dumps include names, records and mailing lists from the medical, business and renewable energy sectors. There also appears to be a number of records taken from the financial sector, which hosts non-personal banking data.

GhostShell has a number of 'projects' on-the-go, most recently breaching 100 top global university databases and leaking 120,000 records, making over 36,000 email addresses, staff names, sensitive personal information and a single bank account number public.

TeamGhostShell, a hacking collective linked with the infamous group Anonymous, is claiming that they have hacked some major US institutions including the likes of CIA, banks and accounts of politicians and has posted those details online.

The dumps comprising of millions of accounts has been let loose on the web by the hacking collective. The motivation behind the hack, the group claims, is to protest against banks, politicians and to avenge the hackers who have been captured by law enforcement agencies.

The leader of TeamGhostShell, DeadMellox, reported the hack through a tweet. Records, containing details of CIA accounts/records, banks, politicians, were leaked under the project dubbed ProjectHellFire and the hackers have said that more will follow.

"We are also letting everyone know that more releases, collaborations with Anonymous and other, plus two more projects are still scheduled for this fall and winter. It’s only the beginning.” the hackers said.

The hackers have also claimed that they are in possession of "three different access points” to millions, probably billions, of databases from a Chinese mainframe; US stock exchange mainframe/s; and Department of Homeland Security which they are going to offer to deserving hackers.
